The Problem
A homeowner in Calabasas was in the final phase of a master bath remodel and needed a shower enclosure that could work around a non-standard niche: an angled ceiling on one side, a custom-tiled niche cut into the back wall, and a diagonal entry opening. Standard prefab enclosures wouldn't fit. The contractor on the job had tried two other glass companies — one quoted an 8-week lead time, the other refused the job due to the angled ceiling.
The Solution
We sent a technician to template the space in detail, accounting for the sloped ceiling angle (17 degrees from plumb), the tile niche depth, and the diagonal entry. The enclosure was designed with Starphire ultra-clear glass — a low-iron glass that eliminates the standard green tint, critical on a light-toned marble tile surround. Panel dimensions were custom-cut to fit the angle precisely. The door panel uses a pivot hinge system anchored into the tile wall with a sealed penetration to prevent moisture ingress. All hardware was matched to the homeowner's existing brushed nickel fixtures.
The Result
Glass was delivered and installed in a single visit, seven days after templating. The angled ceiling panel fit to within 1/8 inch — no field trimming required. The homeowner described the finished enclosure as looking like it was designed into the original architecture of the bathroom. The contractor on the project subsequently referred us to two additional clients on the same street.
