Glass Replacement & Window Repair
Los Angeles & Southern California
Broken seal? Foggy pane? Cracked glass? We repair or replace windows for homes and commercial buildings — single pane, dual pane, tempered, laminated, and all frame types.
About This Service
Window repair and replacement covers a spectrum of issues — and knowing which fix applies to your situation saves you money. We handle everything from IGU seal replacement (the most common repair) to full sash replacement to complete window unit removal and reinstall. Here's how we think about it:
Foggy or cloudy glass between panes is almost always a failed IGU (insulating glass unit) seal. The two panes of glass are factory-sealed with argon or krypton gas between them. When the seal fails, moisture enters and creates the clouding you see. The fix is IGU replacement — we remove the glass unit from your existing frame, install a new factory-sealed unit, and re-glaze. You keep your frame; only the glass changes. This is the right repair for 80% of window calls we get, and it's dramatically cheaper than full window replacement.
Cracked or broken glass (single impact or thermal crack) is repaired by replacing just the affected pane or IGU. We stock common dual-pane sizes and can often do same-week replacement. If your window has been boarded after a break-in, we prioritize these.
Full window replacement makes sense when: the frame itself is rotted or damaged, the window style is obsolete (single-hung when you want double-hung), you're upgrading to Low-E coatings for LADWP rebates, or the frame is an older aluminum type with significant condensation on the frame (indicating frame thermal transfer, not just glass failure).
Low-E glass is worth understanding before any window project. Low-E (low emissivity) coating is a microscopically thin metallic layer applied to the glass that reflects radiant heat. In Southern California's climate, this means your AC works less hard in summer — heat doesn't radiate in through the glass. LADWP and SCE both offer rebates for Low-E window replacements in eligible homes. We can tell you at the estimate whether your job qualifies.
We handle residential and commercial window repair across all window types: aluminum, vinyl, wood, clad, and steel frame. We also do sliding glass door repair — including track replacements, roller replacements, and glass panel swaps — which is a common call we get from apartment managers and homeowners alike.

5-Star Reviews on Yelp
Reached out for a shower enclosure estimate and Frank responded the same day. He walked me through hardware options, explained the warranty coverage, and made sure everything stayed within budget. Really appreciated how knowledgeable and clear they were from the very first call.
A friendly neighbor recommended them after seeing her beautiful bathroom. Was skeptical at first but completely sold once I saw the work. They provided a high-quality, elegant shower door — the installation required real skill which the gentlemen delivered. The time and patience they took to make sure I loved the result was the perfect level of service.
Responded quickly, arrived within days to measure, and finished ahead of schedule. The insulated tempered glass panel was installed with real precision and the moulding was reattached so cleanly that no repainting was needed. Thorough cleanup after — couldn't tell anyone had been there.
Needed a broken window replaced and American Glass Experts exceeded all expectations. Exceptional attention to detail — installed seamlessly and fast. The team made sure everything was clean and tidy after the job. Would definitely hire them again.
Got a mirror installed in the master bathroom and it turned out really nice. They offered 1/4-inch mirror and the quality is solid. Fits perfectly on the wall. Clean work, straightforward process.
Frank and his team came out to measure both bathrooms for frameless glass doors and panels. Everything turned out beautifully and pricing was great compared to other quotes. The process was quick and smooth and the team was professional throughout. Would definitely use them again.
