Commercial Emergency Glass Repair
Board-Up, Replacement & Insurance Documentation
Break-in board-up and glass replacement for storefronts, offices, and commercial buildings. We respond fast, secure the premises, document for insurance, and get your business back open.
About This Service
A commercial break-in follows a predictable sequence: glass is broken overnight, police are called, and by morning the business owner or property manager needs to secure the premises before the day's operations begin. The glazier's role in this process is clear — board up the opening immediately, document the damage thoroughly, and schedule permanent glass replacement as quickly as the glass can be fabricated.
Board-up is not a repair — it is a security measure. Standard board-up uses 3/4-inch OSB anchored to the surrounding frame or masonry. For storefronts with aluminum framing, polycarbonate sheet set into the existing frame is a cleaner option that still allows light into the space and deters repeat attempts more effectively than wood. We discuss both options on the call and let you decide based on your priorities.
Insurance documentation is the other critical piece of the emergency response. Most commercial insurance policies cover glass breakage and emergency board-up. What the adjuster needs is: a description of the damaged glass (type, dimensions, location), documentation of the board-up materials used, and photographs of the damage before and after the board-up. We provide all of this as a matter of course on every emergency call.
- Emergency board-up: Same-day OSB or polycarbonate board-up to secure the premises. We document damage before covering it.
- Insurance documentation: Written invoice with glass specs and board-up materials, plus photographs of the damage site.
- Permanent replacement: Standard commercial panel sizes replaced within 3–5 business days; custom sizes 5–10 days.
- Property manager programs: Standing emergency response agreements for property management companies with commercial portfolios.
Permanent replacement follows the board-up once glass is fabricated. For common storefront panel sizes we stock, permanent replacement can sometimes be scheduled within 1–2 business days. We coordinate with your property manager, insurance adjuster, and building inspector as needed throughout the process.
What's Included
- Same-day emergency board-up (OSB or polycarbonate) to secure the premises.
- Pre-board-up damage photography for insurance documentation.
- Written invoice with glass specs and materials for your insurance claim.
- Permanent glass replacement scheduling within 3–10 business days.
- Coordination with insurance adjusters and property managers.
- After-hours dispatch availability for genuine emergencies.
Our Process
Call (805) 750-6471. We get the address, assess the situation on the phone, and dispatch a crew. During business hours (7am–10pm), expect a crew within 2–4 hours. We give you a verbal estimate before dispatch.
Before any board-up begins, we photograph the damage site — broken glass, frame condition, entry point. These photos support your insurance claim and protect you from disputes about pre-existing damage.
Broken glass is removed and the opening is secured with OSB or polycarbonate. Broken glass debris is swept and removed from the premises. We leave the site clean and secure before we go.
We measure and order permanent glass. Standard sizes: 3–5 business days. Custom or specialty glass: 5–10 business days. We contact you when the glass arrives to schedule installation and remove the board-up.

I wasn't sure about going frameless at first but Frank and Bryant took the time to walk me through the design options. Solid work, looks exactly how I envisioned.
