About This Service

A commercial break-in follows a predictable sequence: glass is broken overnight, police are called, and by morning the business owner or property manager needs to secure the premises before the day's operations begin. The glazier's role in this process is clear — board up the opening immediately, document the damage thoroughly, and schedule permanent glass replacement as quickly as the glass can be fabricated.

Board-up is not a repair — it is a security measure. Standard board-up uses 3/4-inch OSB anchored to the surrounding frame or masonry. For storefronts with aluminum framing, polycarbonate sheet set into the existing frame is a cleaner option that still allows light into the space and deters repeat attempts more effectively than wood. We discuss both options on the call and let you decide based on your priorities.

Insurance documentation is the other critical piece of the emergency response. Most commercial insurance policies cover glass breakage and emergency board-up. What the adjuster needs is: a description of the damaged glass (type, dimensions, location), documentation of the board-up materials used, and photographs of the damage before and after the board-up. We provide all of this as a matter of course on every emergency call.

  • Emergency board-up: Same-day OSB or polycarbonate board-up to secure the premises. We document damage before covering it.
  • Insurance documentation: Written invoice with glass specs and board-up materials, plus photographs of the damage site.
  • Permanent replacement: Standard commercial panel sizes replaced within 3–5 business days; custom sizes 5–10 days.
  • Property manager programs: Standing emergency response agreements for property management companies with commercial portfolios.

Permanent replacement follows the board-up once glass is fabricated. For common storefront panel sizes we stock, permanent replacement can sometimes be scheduled within 1–2 business days. We coordinate with your property manager, insurance adjuster, and building inspector as needed throughout the process.

Our Process

1
Emergency Call & Dispatch

Call (805) 750-6471. We get the address, assess the situation on the phone, and dispatch a crew. During business hours (7am–10pm), expect a crew within 2–4 hours. We give you a verbal estimate before dispatch.

2
Damage Documentation

Before any board-up begins, we photograph the damage site — broken glass, frame condition, entry point. These photos support your insurance claim and protect you from disputes about pre-existing damage.

3
Board-Up & Cleanup

Broken glass is removed and the opening is secured with OSB or polycarbonate. Broken glass debris is swept and removed from the premises. We leave the site clean and secure before we go.

4
Permanent Replacement

We measure and order permanent glass. Standard sizes: 3–5 business days. Custom or specialty glass: 5–10 business days. We contact you when the glass arrives to schedule installation and remove the board-up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Call (805) 750-6471 directly — we monitor the line until 10pm and can dispatch for emergency board-up during those hours. For calls after 10pm, we return calls first thing in the morning and can typically have a crew on-site within 2 hours of business opening. For property manager accounts with standing agreements, faster after-midnight dispatch is available.
We provide a written invoice documenting the damaged glass type and dimensions, board-up materials used, labor performed, and date and time of service. For permanent replacement, we provide a second invoice with the glass specification. We also photograph the damage before and after board-up and provide those photos on request for your insurance adjuster.
Standard commercial board-up uses 3/4-inch OSB cut to the opening dimensions and secured with tapcon anchors into the surrounding masonry or framing. For storefronts with aluminum framing, we can use 1/4-inch polycarbonate sheet set into the existing frame — cleaner appearance, allows light into the space, and deters repeat break-in attempts better than wood board.
Emergency board-up calls after 10pm carry an after-hours dispatch fee. Calls during regular business hours (7am–10pm Monday through Saturday) are billed at standard rates. We give you a verbal estimate before dispatch so there are no surprises. Most commercial insurance policies cover emergency board-up costs in full.
For standard commercial panel sizes we stock — common storefront glass dimensions in clear tempered — same-day permanent replacement is sometimes possible if the break-in occurs during business hours and the opening is a standard size. In most cases, permanent replacement follows within 3–5 business days. Custom sizes, oversized panels, or specialty glass (tinted, laminated, insulated) typically require 5–10 business days for fabrication.

Had some boutique mirrors done and the quality is great. Bryant was knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend for any glass or mirror work.

The job was done well and professionally from start to finish. Our tenants were very happy with the results. Would definitely use again for future properties.

Responded quickly, arrived within days to measure, and finished ahead of schedule. The insulated tempered glass panels look perfect and the cleanup was thorough.

A friendly neighbor recommended them after seeing her beautiful bathroom. Was skeptical at first but the team was patient, elegant result, and they worked around my schedule perfectly.

I wasn't sure about going frameless at first but Frank and Bryant took the time to walk me through the design options. Solid work, looks exactly how I envisioned.

Got a mirror installed in the master bathroom and it turned out really nice. They offered 1/4-inch mirror, quality product, clean work. No issues at all.
